Plated Screws and Corrosion Resistance

Actually, this is the (very) condensed version of "all you need to know about plating and corrosion resistance!"

Customers often ask about the strength and corrosion resistance of our plated versus stainless steel screws. Our plated, hardened steel screws have been heat-treated, so they are less likely to break during installation, when compared to stainless steel. However, stainless steel will provide more corrosion resistance. The accompanying chart shows the relative corrosion resistance of our screws. Note: Application factors, such as proximity to other materials, often have a large impact on corrosion resistance.
