CABINET BUILDING
Generally, cabinets are built with particle board or solid wood.
The material used affects the appropriate fastener choice.
Melamine, Particle board or Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) requires confirmat screws:
For hardwoods or softwoods, use a #8 flat head, hardened steel screw:
CABINET CONNECTING
European cabinet boxes can be joined with two-piece, 5 mm panel connecting screws which fit through pre-drilled 32 mm system shelf pin holes.
For connecting face frame and other cabinet boxes, a #8 ProMaster flat head screw with sawtooth threads works well. The sawtooth threads help the screw cut its way into the wood and increase holding power.
CABINET HANGING
Hanging cabinets requires a screw with incredible hold and strength; that's why our #10 round washer head screws are usually used. They combine the strength of hardened steel screws with an increased bearing under the head to prevent dimpling the wood. For a more decorative finish, or when the screw head will be exposed, choose one of our plated versions.
