Carriage bolts really clean up the appearance of outdoor projects, deck furniture, even the deck itself. That is, until the thin zinc coating begins to fail, leaving ugly rust stains. The solution: A top quality 18-8 stainless steel carriage bolt instead. It won’t rust, and there is no plated finish to flake off. Note: The nickel content of stainless can cause nuts to "gall" (seize) when tightened under load. We recommend application of Never-Seize (available at most auto parts stores) Taiwan.
