Now there is a better way to attach fiber cement board siding and trim, or cement backer board to metal studs: Use stainless steel Square Drive cement board screws! Fastening the new fiber cement board products (including siding and backer boards) with standard drywall screws (which can break easily) or nails (which tend to back out over time) can be difficult, and cause problems after installation. Do it right and forget about it! Aggressive nibs under the head of these cement board screws helps them countersink flush (crucial when installing siding), and a self drilling point helps them penetrate tough cement board easily. In addition, they have a deep, aggressive thread for superior holding power, and the strength and corrosion resistance of 410 stainless steel. What could be better? Made in Taiwan.
