Saw Blades
Product Category Description & Specifications
Tech Tip: Blade Grinds Demystified
Carbide Tipped circular saw blades use three basic tooth grinds : alternate top bevel, flat top, and triple chip. The alternate top bevel’s sharp corners score the wood for clean crosscuts in hard- and soft-woods. While primarily a rip cut profile, the flat top grind is also used on thin kerf blades. The triple chip grind is often combined with the flat top grind to mimic a two-blade scoring saw. The top of the triple chip protrudes slightly, allowing it to precut brittle materials prone to chipping.
