Push Style "Yankee" Screw Driver

YHD-2140

Item No: YHD-2140

Product Information

High tech cordless screwdrivers have largely replaced manual screwdrivers, yet Yankee Style screw drivers have been popular with woodworkers for years, and remain so today. The biggest problem with them has always been finding driver bits for them. This new automatic screwdriver works like a Yankee Style tool, but accepts standard 1/4" hex driver bits. That means that bits are available for virtually every known screw recess, in addition to accessories like drill chucks and countersinks. Just pull back on the quick chuck's sleeve to insert or remove a bit. Measures 17" overall. Includes a #1 and #2 Phillips bit, #6 - 8 and #8 - 10 Slotted bits, and a 1/16" drill bit. Made in Taiwan.

Comments about Push Style ''Yankee'' Screw Driver:

I got this because finding bits for my old Stanley Yankee was getting too hard. This drill is lighter than a ye olde Yankee, but it also doesn't feel quite as sturdy. Also, there is a slight grinding sound that I am not overly fond of when it is used, but that could be taken care of with a little graphite lubricant. Since this one weighs a lot less than my older Yankee, I'll probably use this for camping or other uses where saving weight is important

Comments about Push Style ''Yankee'' Screw Driver:

I've used "yankee" screw drivers for years and treasure them. This is a good replacemant driver. A real plus is the availablility of the bits and this driver will also use impact-ready drill bits! This driver is perfect for me because I have no electric power in three buildings on our property. In the shop I use it all the time, it is handy, quick working, needs no cords or batteries and the mechinical advantage makes it easy on 65 year old hands. Plus you can still 'feel' the screw in!
