Commercial Sharpening System
The Tormek sharpening system delivers a superior edge faster and easier than any method available today. You never remove more steel than you need to so your tools will last longer. The finer edge lasts longer so you spend less time sharpening and more time turning. A finer edge allows you to be more precise. Tormek tools and jigs are designed for craftsmen who insist on quality tools. Many of Tormek’s products are patented. The water cooled system keeps the tools cooler so that they do not lose their heat treatment during the sharpening process and as a result stay sharper longer. Tormek offers two models, the powerful T-7 with a 10" (250 mm) grindstone and the compact T-3 with an 8" (200 mm) grindstone. The water trough incorporates a strong magnet, which attracts the steel particles ground from the tools being sharpened. This keeps your stone clean and cutting more freely. These small steel particles are otherwise pressed into the stone surface and can disturb the sharpening. Jigs and accessories can be used on either machine. Both models have powerful industrial motors and stainless steel hardware, plus they are built to Tormek’s high quality specifications and are covered by a 7 year warranty. All products are made in Sweden.
The T-3 is designed more for the occasional user than the TOR-T7. Therefore it is more economical when you buy it. Its housing is made from shock proof ABS plastic rather than steel. The T-3 is designed for 30 minutes per hour operation. The motor is water cooled to keep your tools from overheating. It is ideal for sharpening woodworking hand tools, knives and scissors. On the TOR-T3 tool, honing on the leather honing wheel is carried out without the jig and with the Universal Support as a tool rest.
User friendly unit that maintains the alignment of the item being sharpened with the grinding stone or dressing wheel. Most conventional jigs make the operator do the alignment making the sharpening less precise. The Square Edge jig keeps your tool at 90° without any adjustments. Another benefit is that the TOR-SE76 can also clamp short and tapered tools firmly. The jig uses blades up to 3" (76 mm) width and has safety stops to prevent the tool from slipping off the stone, which can hurt your fingers. Standard equipment includes: Square Edge Jig TOR-SE76, AngleMaster TOR-WM200, Honing Compound TOR-PA70, Handbook Tormek TOR-DVD1
