Log home builders first used this innovative fastener to anchor one log to the next, but deck builders, landscapers, contractors, and others needing an easy driving, heavy duty fastener have quickly adopted it as their own. Extra deep threads maximize holding power in softwoods, while the diameter of the hex drive head is small enough to “bury” itself yet large enough to provide plenty of clamping force. Each screw has about 2" of thread. Select a screw that is approximately 2" longer than the thickness of the material you are fastening through for best results. A slippery black epoxy coating provides the corrosion resistance to pass a tough 25 cycle Kesternich corrosion test with less than 15% red rust. Use of these screws in Redwood or Western Red Cedar is likely to result in discoloration. 5/16 Hex Head. Made in the USA.

4" Timberlok Screw
By Spitz

About Me Avid Do-It-Yourselfer
Comments about 4'' TimberLok Hex Drive Screw:
I built a large raised bed out of landscape timbers in my backyard to put a vegatable garden in. I used the 8" Timberlok screws to secure the timbers together while using some rebar driven thru them into the soil to secure it to the ground. I used some scrap landscape timbers for small flower beds and the 4" Timberlok screw was a perfect size for that. The Timberlok screws are perfect for outdoor applications and drive easily with a 1/2" drill. Terrific price and shipping thru McFeely's. Will use them for all my fastening needs. Better than going to [@] or [@]!

I use timberloks when I build flower beds and retaining walls with landscape timbers. I drive them with an impact driver. They are easy to use and makes building a wall go much faster.
