If you have teenagers, you may not want to fix that squeaky floor in the hallway. After all, squeaky floors can be a pretty effective “broken curfew detector” in the middle of the night. For most people though, a squeaky floor is an aggrevation they have to live with. "Squeeeeek No More" uses an innovative screw that locks the squeaky flooring to the joist, then breaks off below the surface. Simply place the appropriate alignment fixture over the carpet and drive one of the special screws through the fixture and into the floor.When it bottoms out, use the guide to snap it off below the surface, locking the floor to the floor joist. The joist finding screw made it possible to find the floor joinst under carpet. Once the nearest joist was found, the guide helped me drive several screws through the carpet to stop the squeek. It took over a dozen screws to fully silence a squeek in one doorway, but it got the job done.The screws were sturdy enough not to break accidentally, but the included tool was able to break them off easily, though, once installed.If you have a squeeky house, be prepared to buy more screws; it can take several to silence what seems like a small squeek.

Using this product is literally shooting in the dark. I made several attempts to make sure I was on top of a stud. I drove several nails in. The squeeking did not change at all an in fact has gotten worse. I give up.
