Big Hammers’ Deck Designer is a short-learning-curve, do-it-yourself deck design software package that makes it easy to visualize different deck designs before committing to construction. Deck Designer’s powerful design templates are easily adapted to suit your house and yard considerations, and allow you to quickly try alternate designs so you can determine the impact on material requirements. With the help of templates, start with simple layouts, then add extra levels, change the shape, edit components, select alternate railing types or change the decking direction. Deck Designer automatically adjusts other components affected by the change. Layout views allow you to visualize how your design interacts with existing structures. You can even show windows and doors in the existing structures for a more realistic representation. Joist spacing, deck gap and direction, beam and joist overhang and the location of stairs are all handled easily. Deck Designer outputs dimensioned plan views, pier layouts, 3D views, project specifications and materials lists, so you can focus on the actual construction. Includes a tutorial and many deck design tips to assist you in making your project a huge success.

Deck Designer is a design template system and does not possess the capabilities of a CAD design package. Opened software may not be returned. Big Hammer recommends a PC with Pentium II 350 MHz processor or better and 64 MB of Ram for Windows 9x/ME or 128 MB RAM for Windows 2000, XP, 150 MB of free hard disk space, a CD-Rom drive , a display with at least a 1024 x 768 resolution and 16 bit color. Online help is available to users with internet access.
