Comments about Shelf and Lid Support:
Used this product for the lid on a blanket storage box. It is reversible, but when used this way, one side needs to be offset to clear the bulk of the pivot mechanism. Also, the lower mounting brackets gave me trouble sticking up too far. Looking back on it, maybe I should have mounted them upside down. Also, no instructions included- I had to print them from the web site. All in all, they worked out OK.

About Me Professional
As in other reviews I have read on this product I concur- although it is a nice design idea letting for multiple build layouts, the friction disc mechanisms are very poorly designed and/or constructed. By the time you tighten the mechanism enough to support the lid, the closing function is all but impossible to operate- and from personal experience this products specs should be altered, because one support does NOT hold 20 lbs.. I had a 17.5 lb. lid with two supports, and it still did not function. Fix the product and it would be the ultimate in lid supports, till then, unfortunately, they are junk.

I prefer these for my grandchildren's toybox lids. Adjusted for slow closing and not hurting little fingers. These went on toybox #6.
