How many times have you seen pressure treated posts decay because they were set in concrete or left to stand in surface water. Over time, even pressure treated lumber will succumb to the effects of moisture. These adjustable post bases solve that problem, and are made of 316 stainless steel so you don’t need to worry about the post outliving the base!

These bases may be attached with a bolt that has been embedded into the concrete footing, by nailing or screwing into an existing concrete floor, or by fastening directly onto plywood or lumber floors or decks. When mounting the bases utilizing a bolt embedded in concrete (bolt should protrude 1/2" - 1" above concrete surface), place the base and its adjustment plate over the bolt and adjust it so that the post will be plumb, then tighten the nut to lock the base into position. In other applications the base is simply put into the proper position and fastened with screws or nails. The standoff plate sits firmly on the base and holds the post above any surface moisture to prevent decay. After attaching the post base, align the post in the base, (always an important step), and secure the three vertical sides with fasteners. Finally, the remaining side is bent into position and fastened securely. When used in conjunction with the appropriate stainless fasteners, this post base will stand up to corrosive ACQ pressure treated lumber or salt spray.
