While this was designed as a fixed base router, a quick clamping system allows the motor to change from base to base easily. Depth adjustment is quickly and precisely set using the macro and micro fine adjustment system. A precision centering design makes it easy to keep the bit on the intended cutline when using jigs, templates and dovetail fixtures. The 3-3/4” base plate has a large 2” sub-base opening for large bits. The on/off switch can be either on the right or left depending on user preference. The router handles are made of hardwood for comfort and beauty. The kit includes the fixed base system for adjusting bit height from above a router table. The base has threaded holes for attaching to 3-hole and 4-hole pattern router tables. Soft-start electronics reduce start up torque while feedback circuitry maintains speed under load. With speed control, the router can be matched to the task whether it’s hardwood or softwood. Standard equipment includes ¼” SR collet chuck, ½” SR collet chuck, 16 mm shaft wrench, 24 mm collet nut wrench, chip shield, tool free template guide adapter. Made in Mexico.

Comments about Bosch 2-1/4 HP Router:
I liked this router so much, I bought a second one with the optional Plunge kit. I used these routers extensively when I build the cabinets for my kitchen. They are powerful enough for most tasks and easy to dial in the height of your bits. The wood handles are super easy to hang on to and not get tired or get hand cramps.
