Start using the Quick Change countersink system, and you’ll wish your drill bits were quick change too. With these innovative adapters, they will be. A spring steel collet in each adapter securely grips the bit when the nut is tightened. That means you can use a range of drill sizes in each adapter - important if you use letter, number, or metric series drill bits. Most important, if you happen to break a bit (it can happen) just loosen the collet, insert the good half, and continue working! I have a tiny manufacturing business where I saw, drill, tap, and ream aluminum extrusions and then assemble to make a product. In order to maintain repeatability of parts I use fixtures for hole placement. In a single fixture I have to use up to three different bit sizes. These drill bit adapters along with the Snappy chuck greatly speeds these drill bit changes. The trade off in speed is that the bits are a bit wobbly. They'll center on a center punch or guide but may wander a tiny bit on hard surfaces. Where that is a problem I use the same drill bit adapter but insert it directly in a regular drill chuck and hand tighten. Viola!I am upset that it took me so long to discover these little gems.
