Make-it-Snappy® Tapered Plug Cutters

MS-03

Item No: MS-03

Product Information

Tapered plug cutters and three piece set. Tapered plug for an almost invisible fit

How often have you carefully matched the grain of the plugs you cut, only to find that the hole is a fraction oversize so that the glue line makes each plug look like a miniature bulls-eye? Snappy Plug cutters are tapered so that they form a tight fit. For best results, always bore to the maximum depth of the cutter. Once you drill the plug, simply pop it out with a screwdriver; then insert the chamfered end in the hole. Tap it with a hammer. Trim the remaining plug, flush to the surface. Recommended drill speed is 800–1,000 rpm. All plug cutters have 1/4" quick change shanks. Made in USA.

I needed to make some small repairs and the tapered plug worked great after drilling with a 1/4" Forstner bit.

Comments about Make-it-Snappy Tapered Plug Cutters:

Easily make plugs that perfectly match the material you are using for your project - cut plugs on a drill press from scraps of your project wood. Tip: Mark the top of your plugs before you cut them off you scrap block. This will make it easier to indentify the small end of the plug which goes into your countersink. Do not attempt to cut a plug using a pistol drill - a drill press is a must.
