Product Information
If you drive a lot of 2" and longer screws, this is going to be a lifesaver. You see, long screws have a habit of wobbling a bit until they are started in the wood. Usually you just guide the screw with your free hand – but that isn’t always practical, and it can wear the hide right off your fingers if you aren’t careful. These ingenious magnetic bit holders have an extra sliding sleeve around them. When you drive a screw, simply extend the sleeve to keep the screw from wobbling. As the screw advances, the sleeve automatically slides back up the bit holder’s shaft so it is perfectly positioned for the next screw. That’s pretty slick, but there’s more. It takes almost super-human strength to remove the bit from most bit holders – except in use; then the bits become stuck in the recess and pull right out. Our Screw Shooter II uses common 2” ball-detent style driver bits like those used in your cordless drill, so bits absolutely will not fall out until you want to remove them. (Retracting the ball-retainer sleeve lets a retaining ball "float" out of a detent for easy for a easy bit changing, yet locks the bit in place during use.) The StraightShooter II measures 4-3/4" and will accept #6, #8 and #10 flat head, #8 round washer head, and #6, #8, and #10 pan head screws. Now don't your fingers deserve a StraightShooter II? Made in the USA.
