Comments about 3/8'' Diameter Self-Centering Straight Plug Cutter:
First time I tried this wanted to skate, then re tried and figured it out. Seems more work just to get a plug cut out. I'll spend the money on plugs that are already cut. Cost high for the work to get a plug.
Plug Cutter as screw remover
By Mike
from Montpelier, ND
I needed to remove twelve 3" Torx-head wood screws with stripped Torx sockets, they were binding a 4x4' piece of 1/4" plywood to six 4x4" posts. This plug cutter with the self-centering spring-loaded point enabled me to cut around each screw head, through the plywood, removing the plywood so I could remove each screw with a vice-grip. The plug cutter worked excellently, the spring-loaded pointer sat in the Torx socket and the cutter removed the wood around the screw head. I needed to sharpen the four cutters, a brief labor on the grinder. Otherwise, this plug cutter worked "out of the box" with no other adjustment.
