Key Hole slots make it easy to hang pictures, mirrors, plaques, or even lightweight shelves. Just plunge the bit to the desired depth, then route the slot. Remember to back the router up before lifting from the workpiece, or you’ll have a double-ended slot! To reduce burning, route a 3/8” clearance slot first.
