Kreg’s new K3 Pocket Hole Jig is a masterpiece of creative design - it's simply packed with innovative features that make it easier than ever to assemble strong joints quickly.
Most woodworkers familiar with Kreg’s pace-setting jigs will notice right away that the clamp has been moved to the operator end of the K3. That means that you can secure the workpiece and drill the pocket holes without turning the jig around! A drawbar style clamp pulls the clamping anvil into the workpiece.
Like Kreg’s award winning K2000, the K3’s guide block has three drill guides (instead of two) that allow for center to center spacings of 9/16", 7/8", or 1-7/16", all without repositioning the workpiece! In addition, its unique design allows for complete flexibility in positioning pocket holes almost anywhere on the workpiece. The K3 accommodates 1/2" to 1-1/2" thick materials and the guide block position adjusts in 1/8" increments so that the pocket hole screw will emerge from the center of the workpiece thickness, providing maximum holding power and balanced clamping pressure.
Pocket hole joinery is not generally considered messy, but drilling lots of 3/8" diameter holes will generate some wood chips. The K3’s 1-1/4" dia. collection port helps keep your work area neater, and helps improve drill bit life by clearing chips quickly. Just plug in a shop vaccuum hose to collect the waste right at the source! The shroud pops off for cleaning and to allow access to the guide block indexing pin. The Mr. Nozzle hose adapter allows connection of the Kreg™ K3 to all nominal 1-1/4" diameter shop vacuum hoses, including the Festool 27mm. If a bench mounted tool is not practical, Kreg’s interchangeable base system allows you to remove the guide block from the benchtop unit and slip it into the new Kreg Pocket adapter. Like the benchtop unit, the portable base provides for 1/8" adjustments for material thickness. Its compact size makes it ideal for job site assembly of cabinetry, stair treads, deck railings, and more.
Like other Kreg products, the K3 is extremely easy to use. A built-in gauge assists in setting the stop collar on the special 3/8” brad-point drill bit to achieve the optimal pocket hole.A housing scale allows the guide block to be indexed for the desired material thickness. Once the stop collar is properly positioned, and the guide block is adjusted, cutting pocket holes is simply a matter of drilling holes. The K3 is made of strong, glass filled nylon for dimensional stability, strength, and durability. The three hardened steel drill guides are backed by a manufacturer’s lifetime warranty. Made in the USA.
