The Resaw Guide allows for a higher level of control when adjusting for band saw blade drift. The gently curved face of the guide makes it easy to track the lumber through the blade.

Comments about Kreg 4-1/2'' Re-saw Guide:
I did not want to spend the money on their special fence, so I made one for myself. It is direct but requires precision . Use a clear board app. 1 x 5 x 16 (should be altered to your existing band saw fence). Attach a 13" to 16' piece of U-shaped aluminum "track" (that will hold the screws and "nuts" that come with the Jig (at a precise distance above the table surface so that the screws fit the alum.track and slide easily). Attach the wooden board to the existing fence; attach the jig itself to the track and slide to adjust. It should work smoothly. Adjust and lock the bandsaw fence at the thickness of the "board" you want to end up with (1/8", 5/16", 1/2", etc.). Practice, practice, practice. I suggest starting with basswood or popular and a blade that 1s as wide as your saw will accept.get used to a very slow rate of feed.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
