Say goodbye to expensive oil or waterstones! Put away your precious diamond lapping paste. Breakout the old honing jig (if you feel the need) and put an incredibly sharp edge on all your chisels and plane irons with this amazingly simple peel and stick system.
Unlike sharpening stones of fixed length, this system uses adhesive backed Silicon Carbide abrasive paper, which you cut to the desired length and attach to a phenolic backer plate. Instead of messy honing oil, a few drops of water keeps the abrasive cutting efficiently. Our standard 18 inch long phenolic backer provides over twice the length and width of typical natural or manmade stones, so you can take a generous sharpening stroke even when using a honing guide!
Sharpening Kit includes one 5 meter (16’) roll of SandSharp™ adhesive-backed silicon carbide abravise paper in each of the following abrasive grits: 240, 280, 320, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, an 18" x 6" x 3/4" and a phenolic backer plate. Made in USA.
