Item No: KSE-0201

Product Information

Easily Put a Square Tip on Your Pencil!
Now you can easily put a perfect traditional flat tip point on your carpenter’s pencil. This unique sharpener shaves the sides of the pencil in one step, then the faces in a second step. It sounds complicated, but the sharpener is fast and easy to use. Just slip a standard carpenter’s pencil into the sliding guide. Make a few quick back and forth strokes, switch to the other end of the sharpener and repeat. The nice flat-sided point holds up better and lasts longer than a round point, and makes marking easier. Made in USA.

Comments about Flat Point Carpenter's Pencil Sharpener:

Pencils don't fit into opening into which pencils must be placed to glide them against the blades. This tool is a piece of junk not worth the selling price.

Comments about Flat Point Carpenter's Pencil Sharpener:

This is the only carpenter's pencil sharpener that puts a flat, squared point on the pencil. If you look at the shape of a carpenter's pencil itself & the graphite, it is rectangular. Most sharpeners put a regular writing pencil point on it, defeating it's purpose by providing a thicker writing surface. This sharpener puts on the correct point, as if you were using a utility knife, but a much better uniform outcome. One thing to remember: don't try to take too much off & cut too deep on a new pencil, it is easier taking off smaller slivers initially until you create the tip; then you just swipe it a few times to keep it sharp once the shape is there. Basically it sharpens with a series of blades for the two sides of the pencil, the flat part & it's edges. It is a little bigger than I thought, but worth having it in your tool belt. The only downside is Some pencils are bigger than others, so you may have to scrape the paint off your pencil to get it to fit right, but worth the extra time because it creats a clean sharp edge.
