Big furniture factories have been abrasively planning lumber for years! The swirly grain patterns of highly figured woods like curly maple suffer from tearout problems that are eliminated when the chips are really just sawdust. But you couldn’t use just any abrasive or you would be changing belts every other board. Alumina-Zirconia is just two steps below diamond in hardness so it really stands up to the abuse. These are only available in coarse grits and are designed specifically for maximum stock removal and abrasive life. Made in Germany.
