Self drilling screws turned out to be such a good idea that everybody wanted them. So in addition to the popular hex drive style used so often when assembling air conditioning ductwork, they are also manufactured in a special round washer head style used for attaching metal lath to steel studs. Phillips Recess. #3 Point. Head OD is .413"- .433". Head Thickness is .088" - .098". Made in Taiwan.

Comments about 8-18 x 1-1/4 Metal Lath Screws, Stainless Steel, Special Round Washer Head, Phillips Drive:
As these will be intsalled to a polished aluminum surface, I wish they were shinier.
Excellent screws, would buy again!

I used the screws to attach my aluminum siding to my drop-down fish house frame. Needed something that wouldn't rust, and look decent. Now that the siding is on, it looks great. All the screws are exposed, and look great. The screws were super tough, and drilled into the frame of house with no problem when needed, with no pre-drilling.
worked very well, and very affordable
Worked very well on my drop-down fish house trailer. holds aluminum siding on nice, and tight.
Why drill holes

About Me Professional
I was very happy with product. It is very useful for many applications and can be a shinny stainless steel accent as well. I needed them so I would not have to drill a hole. I also clipped off the end intensionally on the opposing end, which worked well even though they are stainless. Fot trim or marine apl. these are a good size for versitility.
