You have to manage dust at its source in order to have the healthiest shop possible!
Woodworkers have known of the dangers of sawdust exposure for years. Small shops can make dust management difficult, however, because of the bulkiness of many of the available options. Simply put, you want as much of your floor space dedicated to your tools as possible. Jet has a line that includes a smartly designed collector, filtration unit and sanding table that were built with the smaller shop in mind.
The DC-500 dust collector is only 58-3/4" H x 17-1/4" W x 28-1/2" D and collects dust using 500 cubic feet per minute (cfm) of airflow. Powered by an 115 V, 1/2 HP totally enclosed and fan-cooled motor, the dust collector connects to your tools via a 4" diameter flex hose. Other smart features include an integrated, wheeled cart (so the 36 lb. unit can be moved around your shop as needed) and a 1.9 cubic foot capacity fabric bag with clear “window” so you don’t have to guess when it’s time to empty it.
