Portable table saws are not exactly new and you’d expect one to come with such standard features as a UL approved riving knife to prevent kick-backs, integrated dust shroud for lung safety and clean-up ease, and a retractable stand to make a portable table saw really portable. The Jet JBTS-10MJS has those features and some you may not have expected, such as an expandable table that allows the generous 24" wide by 21-25/32" deep surface to be increased to 30-1/4" of supported space. The result? That gives you 25" of rip capacity, which makes it likely that this portable table saw may have as much rip capacity as the contractor saw you’re used to using.
Other smart features include an integrated “control panel” built into the retractable stand that lets you keep all included accessories (rip fence, push stick, extra blade, blade wrench, and miter gauge) where you need them (at the job), a flip switch on the front of the machine just below a thermal reset switch where they’re both easy to find, and modular blade guard that needs no tools for installation.
The JBTS-10MJS is powered by a 120 V, 15 A motor that can cut wood up to 3-1/8" thick (blade at 0 degrees) or 2-1/2" thick (blade at 45 degrees). The stand comes with 8" diameter wheels so moving the saw over tough terrain isn’t the chore you might expect, and an adjustable foot means you’re level on the most inconsistent of surfaces.
