Builders of premium decks and those unsure of the long-term effect of the new pressure-treated materials on galvanized fasteners are increasingly turning to the worry-free corrosion resistance of Stainless Steel. These 18-gauge, grade 316 Stainless Steel joist hangers are designed to make construction fast and easy, and are even tough enough for seaside environments. All sizes have 1" wide nailing flanges with a 2" deep saddle to support the joist. Simpson’s patented double shear nailing pattern provides an extra measure of holding power compared to usual nailing patterns. Note: if attaching to a single 2x header, 1-1/2" long nails are used; use 3" nails when fastening hangers to doubled 2x headers. Requires 4 nails for header and 4 16d x 3-1/2" nails for the joist.
