Product Information

Mortise and Tenon Jig

Mortise and Tenon joinery has been around for a long time; a seriously long time – it’s actually ancient history. But, it’s always been difficult to ensure that they line up correctly and are sized appropriately.

General Tools has introduced an E•Z Pro™ Mortise & Tenon Jig that helps that issue be a thing of the past. It comes assembled ready to use to produce 1/4" mortise and tenon joints. Using a plunge router with the jig, woodworkers can quickly and easily cut fully aligned mortises and tenons ranging from 1/4" to 1/2" thick and from 1" to 3" wide in materials from 1/2" to 1-1/2" thick. The jigs can be mounted on your workbench or can be mounted to a board which is then attached to your workbench and removed for storage if workbench space is at a premium. The jig is manufactured from T6 aircraft aluminum for durability. Thumb screws hold your work piece in place. Sliding templates allow you to adjust the length of the joint and a swing arm centers and aligns your cuts.

The kit includes a wrench for the guide sleeve, a 1/4" up-cut spiral bit, bushing kit, a centering pin and a User’s Manual. The jig is 14-1/2" x 3-1/4" x 4" and weighs only 5 lb. Imported.

It is easy to set up and adjustment is simple. My router was connected with out any difficulty, and centering the stock was simple task also. Mortise and tenon is my favorite joint, because of it's strength and now I have a way to cut them without all of the stress and bother.
