Use this topcoat for your high traffic and abused surfaces!
If you have a table top that needs to stand up to the rigors of young children or a bar top that’s going to be used by numerous patrons, you’ll want to use the High Performance Top Coat. A unique hybrid of urethane and acrylic, the High Performance Top Coat provides a hard and durable surface that can withstand scuffing, sliding and spillage. It is stabilized with UV absorbers to maximize its performance. It is a fast drying, low odor, nonflammable alternative to conventional lacquers. It can be brushed or sprayed. Sanding between coats with 320 grit paper is recommended. 3 – 5 coats provide the best protection. Allow 1 – 2 hours between coats.
High Performance Top Coats all meet the environmental GREEN guidelines set forth for Architectural, Cabinets and Furniture (EPA 40 CFR Parts 9, 59 & 63), California Wood Coatings (SCAQMD Rule 1136), Kitchen Cabinet Makers Association (ESP - Environmental Stewardship Program), and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). Made in USA.

Comments about General Finishes High Performance Top Coats:
I've used this both with a spray and a brush, levels well, holds well on vertical surfaces. Dries quickly so you can put on multiple coats a day, weather permitting.

About Me Professional
The General Finishes High Performance top coats apply easily, flow out well, can be sprayed or brushed successfully, and dry quickly. Can't ask for more than this. I have been especially impressed by the performance of GF finishes out of the sprayer. The quality of the finish coats is so fine that it is smooth and clear without sanding or polishing. I usually need to sand and rub and rub some more to get a fine finish. Nice product.
A good product

I refinished a dining room table - I wanted a durable finish, one that isn't effected by moisture and heat. It was very easy to apply, and very low odor. [...] I would use this product again.

The Best

General Finishes makes some of the best products i have ever used. clean-up is a breeze. you start in the morning and by evening you can have three very nice coats of this applied and your done.I found that if i apply the first coat with a foam brush and use plenty, i apply very heavy let dry about 3 hours and lightly sand with 400 grit paper then apply second coat with my HVLP sprayer, again i apply fairly heavy coat making sure the surface is very wet then in about 3 hours lightly sand with 400 again then apply third coat the same as second coat i end up with a beautiful finish that looks hand rubbed.I have had people make comments like "man you have alot of hours finishing this to make it look like that" I just smile and then tell them the truth. I just can't say enough about it. i still find the best results is don't be afraid to use plenty so it will self level.
Professional Results

I build all style cabinets and I use to spend all my time hand rub finishing. After trying this product I will use it for most all of my projects from now on. I found that from my experience with this top coat, I apply first coat very heavy with foam brush and very few brush strokes, then after about three hours I use 400 grit paper and lightly buff to make it smooth to the touch then the next two coats I spray on, if it needs it i lightly buff between second and third coat. Some say it doesn't self level, I found you need to put it on heavy so it will self level, don't be stingy with it and you will get PROFESSIONAL RESULTS Thank you GF for a great product. After the first Quart I order a Gallon now considering 5 Gallon
