I have been using this tape for layout on an assembly table and at the table saw. It is extremely easy to mark off since the tape lays flat on the material. The hook on the end is fixed as opposed to many tape measures where the hook slides to accommodate inside / outside measurement. To that end, the tape is a flat tape and does not allow you to extend the tape into an area. For measuring the inside dimensions of a cabinet you will need to hold both ends of the tape. The first foot is calibrated in 32's the remainder in 16's. The first inch is a bit difficult to read because of the hook mounting but for measurements under an inch I usually use something other than a tape measure. The clip on the back accomodates a belt or a pocket easily. Overall, I like the product.

This tape compares favorably to the stanley 16' x 1" at less than half price .Built in pencil sharpener ; nice &unique double tape stop. Nice tape if you dont often go over 14' Nevertheless, check out the 20$ + model which is cleaner. I like them both at different times.

This tape lays flat and is much easier to use in a shop for doing layout than a regular tape and more accurate.
