Have you ever wished you had an extra hand when you were hanging cabinets or working overhead? This new support lift makes lots of solo installations easy. Imagine installing cabinet uppers, or crown molding without assistance! The extra long 3rd Hand operates like a caulking gun - squeeze the hand grip and a quick release ratchet advances a 1/2" steel rod tipped with a 3" square swiveling pad. Extending the pad allows you to clamp your workpiece against another surface such as the ceiling or a wall, or jack a cumbersome object into position. The 3rd Hand employs a series of ball detents at 12" intervals to allow for rough length adjustment from 5 to 12 feet.
Textured rubber pads on both ends provide for a slip-resistant grip. The optional 6-inch-square BigFoot base replaces the standard swiveling base quickly, and adds extra stability when positioning awkward items. Weight capacity for the 3rd Hand is 150 lb. Made in China.

About Me Professional
Comments about FastCap 3rd Hand Lift:
These are great for all types of uses. One of the best features is the ability to notch up the height bit by bit of anything you are trying to level out, and hold it till you can secure it in place. It's great for leveling crossbeams on porches, pergolas, and overall for any ceiling drywall etc. Just ensure you follow the weight guidelines. I "overused one" putting up a very heavy piece and when I released it, it saved the beam but broke the mechanism. I like them so much I bought another set. Buy the bag as well. It is very well made and makes carrying them and the accessories a cinch!
Very Handy..

Works much better than my homemade attempts. Most of my work is done without an assistant so this unit fills many uses.
Replaces an assistant

I purchased two of the "Third Hand Lifts" and they replaced an assistant for installing crown molding. The tools paid for themselves in just four hours. Could use more options for the top plate shapes.

Good tool - I wish you could ratchet at the bottom as well as the top ( I have to be on a ladder to reach the ratcheting handle)
3rd Hand First Rate

I've had one of these on hand for a few years now. I'm a one man company, so I've used it many different ways -- support cabinets, stabilize overhead lumber for nailing, holding down the corner of rolled material while I unroll and place it on the floor, supporting drywall sheets with a T-bar added. Now, I have two more because of the extensive sheeting requirements for EPA rules. Easy to set up and take down, they give me flexibility in the physical arrangement of plastic doorways and such. Their only drawback is that they are yet one more long, somewhat heavy tool bag to carry around, and store when not in use. Don't know how they could be lighter though, and just as stable, unless they were made out of some exotic metal that I would not want to pay for.
