When a finished appearance is important, the flat grain orientation of these plugs will allow you to match the grain and disguise the unwanted screw hole, if you select grain pattern and color carefully. These plugs also avoid the darkening effect experienced when finishing end grain plugs. Length is 1/4” long with 2° Taper. Made in USA.

    Comments about 3/8'' Red Oak Face Grain Flat Head Plugs:

    A little disappointed as the plugs were not not all the same size. There were a lot of plugs where the bottom of the taper was larger than the 3/8" countersunk hole. These plugs needed more force to drive in and would not go down as deep requiring more cutting/sanding to finish. But once installed and sanded they looked as good as others I have used and costed less.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
