Pro-model sprayer
Earlex is known for making HVLP sprayers that are light in weight but not on features. The first you may notice is that, because of its weight and size, you can move the sprayer to your project (and not be forced to do the opposite). It has a pro-metal gun with a non-stick coated interior for fast clean-ups and an adjustable spray (from 1" to 12") width to keep you in control. A 13' hose provides plenty of movement around even the biggest projects. The power cord adds another 5.5' of movement. Oil and water based paints can be sprayed such as polyurethanes, lacquers, varnishes, shellacs, stains, latex, dyes, and many more. The EX-5000 includes 13' hose, viscosity cup, spray gun with a quart metal paint pot that has a non-stick coating inside for easier clean-up, “push and click” spray pattern changer, and a standard 2.0 mm (0.08 in.) stainless steel needle and fluid tip. Made in England.

Comments about Earlex Spray Station 5000:
Have been plesently surprised, have only used twice so far but look forward to trying on many other projects.
better than expected out of the box.

I used this to spray some interior trim and it sure did make short work of it, with minimal overspray. It showed up on time when expected and performed better than I could imagine. It saved a couple of hours on the first use. Clean up was easy for water based products have not tried laquer or oil based yet but will soon.

I bought the sprayer to top coat wood projects, but was more than happy to find it does well on automotive and high gloss marine finishes as well.

I may never use a brush again.

About Me Casual Do-It-Yourselfer
The product is easy to use. Adjustment of flow rate is critical to a smooth finish. Just a little practice goes a long way. Overall, I'm thrilled with the results. The resulting finish is smoother than anything I've ever achieved before and the time to produce it was almost unbelievably short. We setup the backdrop, sprayer, and work area, then sprayed both sides of the workpieces, and even cleaned up in LESS time than it would have taken to brush one side of the pieces. BTW: The pieces were a headboard (big and mostly flat) and a spice rack (small with lots of edges, nooks, and surfaces -- nearly impossible to do well with a brush). The trigger is smooth and spray flow is easy to control/start/stop. Once I'd practiced a little and adjusted the spray volume, it was pretty easy to get a great result. The only reason this product didn't get 5 stars is because of some minor annoyances: the spray canister has a tiny leak where it shouldn't (build issue), it's a pain to get the canister to sit securely in the station (design issue), and the cord/hose storage is _almost_ convenient (tiny design flaw). But, none of these are show stopper, just minor annoyances.I'd definitely recommend this product for any small shop.

Excellent Choice for a First Gun

Good choice for a first gun. I have used it to spray poly in several furniture projects with good results. Cleans easily but the grip is somewhat uncomfortable after long use.
