Deck Spacers that Help Prevent Ledger Rot

Ledger boards attached to foundation walls require an air space to prevent wood rot. This air space is generally created by stacking several washers on the bolt or lag screw before fastening. This seems easy enough, but the washers are easy to knock off while placing the ledger over the protruding bolts, or can be difficult to slip over lag bolts as the ledger is installed. Deck2Wall deck spacers are screwed to the ledger or rim joist forming a permanent stand-off that won’t dislodge during installation. To use them, temporarily attach the ledger in the desired location, then drill holes for the mounting bolts or lag screws as appropriate. Remove the ledger and attach the spacers to it. Apply silicone sealant to the bolt holes, then re-position the ledger and secure using the specified fasteners. The reinforced polypropylene deck spacers have three mounting holes for use with #8 screws, are 2-1/2" diameter, 5/8 inch thick, and have a through hole for 5/8” or 1/2” dia bolts. Made in USA.
