Replace your rusty nail and save your caulk gun!
Instead of using whatever happens to be handy (and fits), use the Caulk Saver to plug the tip of used caulk tubes. The nail never worked that well to begin with. The Caulk Saver is tapered and ribbed so you can push it in as far as you need to seal up the tip – no matter where you cut the tip. If the Caulk Saver is too long, cut it off. Caulk Saver comes in a 6-pack of orange, or color code your supply with a 6-pack of multi-colored Savers. Made in China.

Paid for with the first tube saved. The "old long screw" cap approach never stopped the drying out problem deep in the spout. These really work.
Great idea and design, Wrong material

Perfect design. Works great and is a huge improvement over using nails, screws, caps and everything else we use, BUT they break off way too easily. The material of construction is way too brittle. I would not recommend these to anyone, but if you come out with the same thing with a tougher material, I'm back on board!
