Comments about Gallon Semi-Gloss CrystaLac:
For years I sprayed lacquer because I couldn't find a decent water based finish you could spray. Crystalac is the first product that meets my needs. It doesn't require thinning, it sprays and lays down beautifully, and clean up is a breeze with a couple drops of dishsoap and and water. I always use the retarder because my shop is either bone dry in the winter or hot in the summer. The final finish looks great and is rock hard.
great finish easy to use

I have used several gallons of this product. I had never sprayed finish before and my kitchen cabinet project turned out beautiful. This material has a bit of an amber tone that I feel enhances the beauty of wood. My biggest knock on water finish has been the gin clear finish. Sometimes that is OK, but for furnitureI prefer the oil finish look and this mimicks that better than any water finish I have seen. It does raise the grain a bit, but all water finish does. I have been meaning to use the grain filler to see if that helps, but am reluctant to add another step. Kinda spendy [...] But I am confident every time I use it that I will be happy with the outcome. That is worth some added cost.
