These waterbased wood stains are among the best I have ever used - oil based, anilines, or anything else. A combination of pigments, dyes, and special additives is used to achieve these deep, rich, lustrous colors. Mix colors together to obtain a custom color, or use the clear stain base as a neutral to lighten a color. Formulated to minimize grain raising tendencies common to water based products. They are easy to use, and can be applied by hand or sprayer. Note that these stains should not be used to tint CrystaLac topcoats. Made in USA.

Extreme grain swelling on white oak

About Me Avid Do-It-Yourselfer
Comments about Quart CrystaLac Golden Oak Stain:
Work on small areas and wipe off quickly. Stirrs easily but leaves a significant amount of dried solids on stirr stick indicating a pretty high percent solids. The worst thing was the way it swelled the grain to the point of cracking in places and just ruined the appearance of the wood.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
