Imagine a super hard water based wood finish, formulated for spraying - right out of the can! No more catalysts to mix, no more wondering if you got the formula right. Just stir and shoot. If that isn’t enough, imagine that the wood finish is water-white-clear. If that sounds too good to be true, you haven’t tried CrystaLac Premium 2001 Finish yet. Specifically designed for musical instrument builders who need a super hard, crystal clear finish (even clearer than our standard Premium 2000 topcoats). Use of a separate sanding sealer is not recommended - Premium 2001 wood finish is self sealing. Use it for your most demanding surfaces - desk tops, pianos, dining room tables - its up to the challenge.
Available in Satin, Gloss and Semi-gloss in Quarts and Gallons. Semi-Gloss Quart is pictured

Comments about Semi-Gloss 2001 CrystaLac Water Based Wood Finish:
Using a turbine sprayer. No thinning required; easy water cleanup; quick drying for recoating. Levels nicely after coating. My first experience with water based material and I love it.

Use of Crystalac 2001

About Me Professional
Used on small miniature display cases. It's a perfect product for my use. It seems to be a consistently good product.
First time use

Bought a quart to try out. After I saw the results I rushed right out and bought several gallons of ************ (solvent based lacquer) I was spraying Poplar legs for a utility table. Crystalac raised the grain on every coat. Sprayed at the rate on the bottle - 1 qt to 125 sf - I could barely detect a finish after 4 coats. Spraying outside at 76 degrees the HVLP gun flogged constantly. I had to clean the nozzle every few seconds. Took three times as long as solvent lacquer waiting for it to dry enough to turn the legs so I could do another side. I know Poplar isn't the easiest wood to finish so I sprayed some on a scrap of Koa. Didn't look much better. I was thoroughly disappointed after all the good I read about Crystalac
