Festool has re-invented their entire cordless drill line. Keeping the best of their old design and adding new features and benefits to the T-series and C-series Lithium Ion powered drills. Both use the brushless motor system for increase power because it is more efficient than the brushed motors. You also get less noise and longer life from less moving parts to boot! Festool cordless drills have integrated thermal and overload protection to prevent catastrophic failure from being pushed beyond its capabilities. The tool simply shuts off before damage can be done to the motor and stays off until its cool enough to operate. Both T and C Series drills have an integrated LED light, on-board bit storage and a battery fuel gauge to let you know how much power you have left to use. A movable belt clip lets you choose which side to attach to your belt (great for you lefties out there).
The electronic clutch protects from overload. Because of this clutch, you can also shift from drilling to driving without losing your clutch settings. Both the C-series and T-series can use five different chucks. The CentroTec Chuck comes with a magnetic bit holder that works well with standard 1/4" hex shank bits and is included with all Festool C and T series drills. The FastFix ½" keyless ratcheting chuck hold drill bits tightly. FastFix Right Angle chuck gets you into tight locations. It can be swiveled a full 360° with 16 locking positions. It can also be combined with the Centrotec or Keyless Drill chucks for additional functionality. It is included in the C and T “sets”. The FastFix Eccentric chuck looks a bit weird but gets you into the corners where other drill chucks can’t go. It too can swivel 360° and locks in at 16 positions. This chuck accepts wire detent insert bits and is included in the “sets”. When driving screws, you’ll need the Depth Stop chuck which can be “set and forget” convenient. The integrated clutch maintains depth of fastener placement independent of the torque setting, and the green quick-out ring backs out screws without affecting the depth setting. The Depth Stop chuck is not included in the “sets” nor is it compatible with the CXS Drills. And if that is not enough, you can leave all the chucks off and put a bit directly into the nose of the drill for especially tight locations. Combine all these features and store them in the new T-Loc Systainer and you couldn’t ask for a better drilling/driving system. Imported.

Comments about Festool C12 10.8 V Lithium-Ion Drill / Driver:
I am a Festool nut, I own almost every tool they manufacturer. I am not knocking the BRAND, only these tools. I have the C12 and T15 and both are for light duty work only.
