Product Information

Bloxygen saves your paints, stains, and varnish!

  • 1 can works 75X in quarts or 35X in gallons
  • Inert gas argon forms barrier between oxygen and finish
  • Spray, seal, and store!

Prevent oxygen and moisture damage when storing your leftovers. Use inert gas when you store your leftover fine finishes, oil based paints, oil based stains, varnishes, paste wood fillers, polyurethanes, resins and glues. Normally, oxygen and moisture attack leftovers and form a “skin” on top or thicken these products. With Bloxygen, just spray, seal, and store: blast some Bloxygen under the lid, seal it, and you won’t come back to a dried up blob. Bloxygen uses a powerful but natural (and ultra pure) inert gas called argon. Argon is a heavier gas so it forms a barrier between the product and the oxygen that causes problems. A single can will work about 75 times in quarts (2 second shot) or about 35 times in gallons (4 second shot) so less than 15 cents will save a $20 – $50 product. Made in USA.

Note: BLOXYGEN will NOT HELP problems with WATER-BASED FINISHES or LACQUER. These products don't cure via oxygen absorption.

          Comments about Bloxygen Spray:

This didn't work for SWP oil based primer. I tried it in a gallon, and several times in a quart with very little void space. Paint still formed a thick skin in about three weeks. My knowledge of argon tells me this actually should work, but I guess it can't work for everything. I hope it works for tung oil; I plan to try it for that. Because the argon is so light, the can feels empty when you first get it and the gas comes out slowly, so you're never quite sure if you have squirted enough under the lid.

                Comments about Bloxygen Spray:

I've always wanted to try this product as I have lost several partially used cans of Tungseal varnish due to oxidation causing the product to jell or harden. I've used compressed gas (computer cleaning) that is also heavier than air and rests on top of the surface. I question how inert it is though. This can of 12g of Argon gas feels totally empty(12 grams is less than the weight of a teaspoon of sugar). It is supposed to go a long way as long as you have faith that a 2 second shot is enough to preserve a quart of finish. Mcfeelys had the best price [...] made it a no-brainer to try.

                    Comments about Bloxygen Spray:

The first time I tired this product and I found it works. When I got this product and felt the weight of the can in which the product comes in, I thought it was empty. After reading the label on the product can, it tells you that it feels empty new. Sprayed the product inside a can of varnish as directed (2 seconds for quart). Four days later I opened the can of varnish and there wasn't any hard varnish not even a crust on top.
This will save me money and time, well spend money on this product for my uses. I would recommend this for all your uses as directed.

                      Comments about Bloxygen Spray:

This product is the lowest cost solution for oxygen displacement, and also contains the highest amount of Argon per volume, aside from expensive welding supply gas tanks.

Competing products contain other gases that are not "inert" in certain circumstances, so Bloxygen is a better general purpose preservative.

Squirt some gas into your container before you put your varnish away and it never skins over. It's simple and works. It costs about 12 cents per use.
