These button plugs are slightly tapered to ensure a tight fit. When fully seated, the domed head will protrude above the wood surface. The grain runs in the direction of the plug thickness, as if it was cut from a dowel. Made in USA.

      Comments about 1/2'' (Walnut) Screw Hole Buttons:

      I used about 900 of these on the restoration of a 1923 Railcar. I installed a small (1 1/4") corner block in each of the walnut panels and then added a button to each block, using a 1/2" forstner bit. It makes an interesting detail,for a job that is destined for Mexican rails.

      Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
