Take the Mystery Out of Buying Lumber!
Do you ever feel like you paid for more lumber than you got at the lumber yard? Buying hardwoods can be a confusing proposition. Between the grading rules, kiln shrinkage, and standard “trade” practices, more often than not, you’ll leave the yard wondering how the lumber was really measured. This innovative tape measure will take the mystery out of buying lumber. The top side features a standard 16 foot measure...but flip it over and you’ll find the first retractable lumber rule. Marked in the standard units of the hardwood industry, it makes lumber measurement easy. Just measure the board length in feet, then place the tape across the width of the board. The easy to read scale instantly shows you the surface measure for 1" and thinner material. For thicker material, simply multiply by the thickness in quarters of an inch. Approved by the National Hardwood Lumber Association, it includes a brief summary of grading standards and usage examples. Made in USA.
