McFeely’s™ dowels are manufactured using only high-grade Appalachian hardwoods and are dried for months in a yard and finished on a kiln to a target 8% moisture.
When you’re storing dowels, it’s important to do so in as stable an environment as possible. Recently, McFeely’s™ made the decision to move away from storing dowels in our own warehouse and to use a top-notch U.S. manufacturer to ship these direct to you. To ensure package integrity, dowels do have package minimums which we cannot waive or mix and match. Allow 2-3 weeks for delivery. Made in USA.

Comments about 48'' Poplar Dowels:
I use these to make drum sticks for playing Japanese Taiko drums. They are the best quality, at the best price I have ever used.
Best dowels I have ever purchased.

These are the best dowels I have used. They require a minimum of sanding and have really straight grain. They are 1/4 the price of dowels at my local home project store.
What a deal...

What can I say about dowels: they are round and properly sized. These dowels are also very straight. Shipping is great and keeps them from being damaged -- until I cut them with my saw!

Excellent Quality Dowels

I work with a group of volunteers that builds hand-cranked wheelchairs for people in 3rd world countries without the use of their legs. We make handles for the cranks by cutting the dowels into 3 1/2 inch lengths and drilling a hole in the center. Works great and lasts a long time with several coats of spar varnish.
