Manmade wood products like Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF), particle board and flake board have many uses, but attaching hardware to them can be difficult. These threaded inserts are designed to cope with the fine grain structure of these materials. The specially designed interrupted knife threads easily cut their way into these materials yet offer significant resistance for removal. Flanged version prevents driving these too deep beneath the surface. Install with a metric sized hex wrench, or the appropriately sized driver to install. Made in USA.
