Manmade wood products like Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF), particle board and flake board have many uses, but attaching hardware to them can be difficult. Threaded inserts are designed to cope with the fine grain structure of these materials. Interrupted knife thread cuts easily yet resists removal. No special bits are required to drive them (metric Allen wrenches). These threaded inserts fit American threaded fasteners but are made to metric dimensions rounded up to the nearest 1/64th from metric. Made in the USA.

                    Very useful, would use again. Only caution is they are easy to strip out. Install by hand to avoid this. Threads for grip to wood could be courser.
