Building “Boxes” with Melamine or MDF Has Never Been this Easy!
If you assemble melamine cabinets or work with particle board or Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF), these unique cabinet screws have been specially designed to make your life easier. The large 7mm dia. shoulder beneath the head acts much like a steel dowel pin and locks the shank in position to minimize the possibility of board failure. This creates a remarkably strong and stiff joint that generally does not require glue. Screws require a pilot hole through both pieces of material. Simply clamp the pieces together and drill with a specialized 3-step 10mm/7mm/5mm drill bit. These 7x50 cabinet screws are for use with 3/4" materials. If you are using 1/2" thick material, consider using the 5 x 40mm screws confirmat style cabinet connecting screws.
Note: these screws use the typical European #3 Pozi-drive recess.7 x 50 mm (approximately 2” long) is recommended for 3/4" stock. We offer specially designed screw caps to fit a hole in the drive recess and introductory kit for both 7x50 and 5x40 sizes. Caps and Intro kits sold separately.

Comments about 7mm x 50mm Connecting Cabinet Screw:
I use Melamine shelf material for shop cabinets and have tried several different fasteners to hold the carcass together with mixed results. I decided to give these fasteners a try and wow...they hold in particle board like no other fastener I have used. I will still use glue in the joints (I use dados for joining the sides and ends) but with these screws and the proper drill (also purchased from McFeely's) glue may not be necessary. Highly recommended for Melamine / Particle board applications.

Great product

I'm building a melamine cabinet for a customer and it's the first time I've really worked with this material. I saw something online that indicated that these screws were the best and, after using them, I'm convinced!I bought the 8X50 kit and it couldn't have been easier. The drill makes a perfect countersunk hole and the screws go in like greased lightning. Rock solid and worth the extra money. The plastic caps are great as well and stay in place nicely.A very good system.
