Festool RO90DX Multi-Mode Sander
Easily transition between rough and final sanding with the same sander! This multipurpose sander has an aggressive gear-driven rotex mode for grinder-quality material removal, and a random orbit mode for ultra-smooth finish sanding, Deltex Mode for detail and corner sanding and Polishing Mode for the ultimate surface finish. An included delta shape attachment is ideal for hard to reach areas and perfect for polishing.
Rotex sanders incorporate Festool's Multiple Material Control (MMC) electronics which features a soft start, speed control, constant speed under load and a handy dust extraction port. For a near dust-free environment, hook it up to your dust extractor which also aids in removing sawdust for even faster sanding operations. Speed control on both the sander and the dust extractor prevents the pad from being sucked down onto the work surface causing ugly swirl marks. Dial in just the right speed to keep you removing the surface at the fastest speed possible while maintaining a clean workshop. Remove the dust channel when you don’t need it.
The RO90 is kind to you ears as well as your arms. Ergonomically designed counter-balances, keep you from feeling like you ran a jack hammer all day and the motor is extremely quiet. Use a full range of abrasives and polishing accessories to suit whatever job you tackle. The FastFix pads require no tools to change. Just engage the locking mechanism and twist off the pad. The StickFix accessories won’t come loose during heavy use and the pad brake brings them to a near immediate stop. The RO 90 comes with a StickFix Delta sanding pad, an abrasive sample pack and an edge protector. Imported.

Comments about Festool RO90DX Rotex Sander:
I have a small basement shop and had relegated sanding tasks to outside only which really limited finishing talks (usually on cabs) to daylight hours during good weather (I'm a semi-pro, weekend warrior). Even with my Jet air filtration system running, snading inside was unacceptible due to dust everywhere, including in my lungs and eyes. No more! Just like the first time I used an impact driver, sanding with the Rotex 90, for me was life-changing. It is not just that it sands really good, but the amount of dust that is NOT flying around your face is astonishing. All the reviews and Festool literature says it collects most of the dust (used with a Festool dust extractor, of course) but if I said it collects ALL of the dust, I wouldn't be very far from the truth. The fines are sucked away and a small fraction of the bigger bits that don't float are left on the bench. Also, not much is said about the Rotex's polishing skills. I haven't used it for that yet but plan to make good use of it (read super glossy and hard hand-applied finish!). So, in my view, the Rotex potentially replaces 4 other sanders (radom orbital, quarter sheet, belt, and delta) does a better job of it to boot AND can be used inside at the point of installation be it in my house or a clients. Oh yeah, my limited shop space just got bigger and more organized (anybody want to buy 3 PC sanders?)
