When you need a swirl-free finish, and don’t have time for hand sanding or scraping, look no further than Festool Random Orbit Sanders. Random Orbit Sanders are specifically designed for the critical last sanding step before applying the finish. The ES 125EQ features the JetStream dust extraction system which maximizes abrasive life, a sanding pad brake to prevent scratches when starting or removing the sander from the workpiece, stepless electronic speed control to allow precise matching of power to the task at hand, and fatigue-reducing ergonomic design. This is the perfect “palm” sander for overhead or vertical surfaces.
Performance wasn’t sacrificed to achieve the small size, though. It has a 5" diameter sanding pad, and a 3/32" stroke to provide the most swirl-free possible surface. At only 2.4 lbs, its light weight makes it easy to work overhead or on vertical surfaces, yet it still has enough heft to be effective on horizontal surfaces. Like other Festool Random Orbit Sanders, the ES 125 E uses StickFix(hook and loop)abrasives and features electronic variable speed control for optimum performance on a wide variety of materials. Order abrasives separately. Made in Germany.

Comments about Festool ETS 125 EQ Random Orbit Sander:
Follow the directions for best results. Where the sander ready shines is on a slow speed setting, it's great and leave a very small foot print or none at all. The sanding pads are well priced compare to other disks for the same size sanders. I set my Festool and my other sander to a slow speed and there wasn't any comparableness, the Festool had the slowest speed which is needed for finish work. Less time sanding means more time to do other things and the finish is great. Another great thing about this sander is it leaves very little sawdust and that's another plus. Any more when I buy a product I check the amount of sawdust left after a job. Too much sawdust I won't buy the product. As price goes it's high for a sander but the benefits are worth every dollar.
great sander would never buy the others.

About Me Professional
I have a professional wood shop and this is the best sander we have. Does not blow dust all over or in your face, and runs very smooth. Only thing I don't like is the desposable dust bags. A reusable dust bag would be better. But hook it up to a vac. hose and no problem.

Low vibration but Low power

Yes the vibration is lower than several other palm sanders I have but that's because the aggressiveness is less. About 8 passes needed to remove light pencil witness marks with 120 grit festool paper on cherry. Slow material removal even at max speed.
This sander does the job right

I have several Festool products, and so far I haven't found one yet that doesn't live up to its name!
