With the spiral blade design, the blade is drawn across the work piece at an angle. Since the cut enters the work piece gradually, noise levels are reduced. When you want to produce distressed surfaces, replace the standard planer head with one of three "Rustic" heads. This technique offers the option of many decorative surface textures.
