Comments about Dust Extractor Spark Trap:
This is the sparktrap made for the larger Festool Dust extractors/vacuum units, the CT-22 and 33. It may also fit the new units, but you'd need to check with Festool or a retailer. It's designed to allow you to safely pull in metal grinding or finishing dust along with the sparks that come with the job, while not having to worry about an explosion happening inside your vacuum due to dust being ignited from the sparks. The unit is larger than the pictures suggest, and simple pops in the inlet port of your Festool unit, while you attach your hose to the outside fitting of the sparktrap. Nothing else to do, it's simple in function. Sparks hit the plate inside, before being sucked into the vacuum unit. They die out, and you don't have to worry about that explosion!. Not a needed attachment for everyone, but it works well for people who need to sand or finish both wood and metal with the same tools and Festool dust extractor safely. I use it mostly with my 1 x 42" belt sander for metal working.
